Controls

Where the other speakers in the market lack control panels, this one is just amazing. Its deck is an array of different kinds of controls for volume, power, forward and backward buttons, Bluetooth button and speakerphone button. They are indented with a nice display of LED lighting. There is more bass than you can ever have enough of. At the back of the speaker, there are two big bass ports and no matter how low or high you turn the volume, the bass will be clearly audible.

Controlling Music playback

On the top of the speaker, there is a play/pause button and there is one for back and forward. Therefore, your playback is under your control. You want to play the next or the last item that you listened to without going back to your smart device, you can do it right from the speaker. If you would like to pause and then pick up from there, you cannot miss the button for that. It stands out!

Speakerphone

The speakerphone is indicated by a telephone receiver icon. When a call comes in, the music will pause automatically and then pick up from where it stopped. In addition, you can just answer the incoming call from the speakerphone. You will love the quality of the voice call as it is just similar to what you get on your smartphone.

Ease of Set-up

You can set up the TREK MAX blindfolded. First, you will need to charge your speaker for the recommended number of hours. On one side, under a rubber cover you will see three ports. One is the AC charging port. The other is a USB port and yet another one is an auxiliary input port for use with devices that are not Bluetooth enabled. You will have to flip the switch to turn it on, and then press the Bluetooth button to start pairing. In any case, there is a user manual for you.

When powering the speaker on battery mode, turn on the switch at the side, near the ports first, then press the power button at the top.

Stereo Separation

Stereo separation is merely the the separation of sounds through a left and right speaker. When listening to the music you may hear the drums through the right speaker and the guitar through the left, this separation mimics the spatial separation within the studio where the music is recorded. This speaker has stereo sound, but the full rich punchy bass and clear mid and upper ranges seem more omni directional.
